Tsunami2 Alternate Mixer

In each newsletter, we like to share some of the exciting features included in the new Tsunami2 and Econami line of decoders.

This month, we’ll highlight a new feature of the Tsunami2, the Alternate Mixer.

Many clubs have started setting standards for sound decoder volume levels allowed on the members’ locomotives.

But most of the time, home volume settings are too low for a public running environment.

Ambient noise, fans or air conditioning, the spaciousness and members’ normal milling about tend to drown out the sound coming from those tiny speakers.

To the rescue:  Tsunami2 decoders have a secondary mixer built in, so your customers can use a function button to toggle between home and club volume settings!

Normal operation volume levels are set in CVs 129-160 for each sound effect.

CVs 2.289-2.320 are the alternate mixer CVs.  See pages 36 through 39 in the Steam and the Diesel User’s Guides.

F28 is defaulted to be unassigned (no functionality) in the Tsunami2, so to set F28 to toggle to the alternate mixer volumes, set CV 1.284 to 28.

Now each time your customers go to the club, they will not have to spend 5-10 minutes readjusting the volume levels, simply press F28 and the alternate volume levels will be active!
